Since you are activating/deactivating a font that the System uses by default (HelveticaNeue.dfont) you will need to confirm the HelveticaNeue font version that you want is active within Font Book and let just let Font Book complain about the duplicate. What version of Mac OS are you running? The option to resolve duplicates manually comes up as a system prompt (popup window) right after the Look for Enabled Duplicates scan shows activated duplicates (in 10.7.5).īased on how your preferences are set within Font Book the Resolve duplicates will either move duplicates to the trash and thereby deactivate it, or it will Activate the font you choose and allow the duplicate to exist. Thanks for your help thus far, it is greatly appreciated! I'm not sure if I follow the second half of your post with the arrow buttons, however maybe it will make sense if I can figure out where the resolve manually option is? It doesn't allow me to "deactivate" once I right click to bring up the font options. I hit "reveal in finder" for some of the duplicate fonts and I saw that it directed me to the folder you said NOT to transfer fonts to: /System/Library/Fonts/ The yellow "alert" triangle is still visible. I clicked "resolve duplicates" and nothing happened. When I went to select all duplicates they were highlighted as you mentioned, however I don't see where the "resolve manually" option is. Once I placed the fonts there everything transferred over without a problem but two fonts were asked to either allow conflict or trash. I removed all the fonts I was trying to activate out of font book and followed your instructions to place the fonts in a separate folder within: /Users/yourusername/Librar y/Fonts/.
